Alaska Book Week

Alaska Book Week, an annual celebration that promotes Alaskan authors and books, takes place on October 1-6, 2016 and we are thrilled to be one of the sponsors.

This year, first-time author Dan Walker will be presenting his middle grade novel, Secondhand Summer, a semi-autobiographical book set in Anchorage about a young boy struggling to come to terms with the death of his father.

Longtime Alaska Northwest Books collaborator Tricia Brown will also be presenting her books, The Alaska Homesteader’s Handbook and Charlie and the Blanket Toss at the festivities.

The book week activities, spread throughout the state, include author events and panels, author visits to classrooms and writing groups, book club activities, and more. For more information on Alaska Book Week events, click here.
