Desert springtime, with flowers popping up all over the place, trees leafing out, streams gushing down from the mountains. Great time of year for hiking, camping, exploring, sleeping under the new moon and the old stars.
Spring signals it’s time to break out of our hibernation and get outside. Like many Coloradoans, I head to Moab, Utah for hiking, biking, jeeping, and climbing. There are hundreds of miles of trails — some take you to jaw-dropping vistas overlooking strange rock formations, others wind through canyons next to precious, trickling streams. The cottonwoods glow chartreuse against the redrock and tiny cactus flowers come into bloom. Tourists from all over the world flock to this nature-lovers mecca to photograph and adventure in two national parks, Arches and Canyonlands. If you love the outdoors, there’s nowhere quite like it.
If you go to Moab. . . Don’t miss hiking to Morning Glory Bridge, biking Poison Spider trail, cooling off at Moab Brewery and fueling up with a breakfast burrito at Love Muffin. And drink lots of water.
Did you know? These movies were filmed in Moab: Thelma and Louise; Austin Powers III – Goldmember; Mission Impossible II; and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
Whether your Spring travels take you somewhere to relax on a sandy beach or explore nature in outdoor sports, all of us at Graphic Arts hope you enjoy them (and don’t forget to bring a good book!)
